After last week’s news alert entry regarding the Newsweek article that promotes homosexual marriage by grossly misinterpreting the Bible, a few major things have happened that may influence Newsweek’s handling of such issues. First, Newsweek Chief Executive Tom Ascheim received so many complaint emails that he actually had to add an email address because his inbox was filled to capacity. Second and most importantly, the Washington Post, which owns Newsweek, has announced that they will lay off a portion of the Newsweek staff amid declining circulation numbers.
